EAS Myoplex

EAS was the first supplement company that I can think of that became mainstream. After the introduction of their creatine, Phosphagen, their exposure and popularity exploded. I was in college at the height of EAS’s popularity. Lots of people were taking Phosphagen HP with their Myoplex, or they were taking the “EAS Supershake”. Bill Phillips, at the time, had the Midas touch. EAS could do nothing wrong. Eventually, the business imploded and Phillips sold EAS. For about 4 or 5 years EAS had basically disappeared. The new leaders of the company tried to market new products, but by the time they got a few new products on the market, Muscletech and BSN had taken over.

Recently, EAS has been targeting athletes. This is a smart approach I think. it’s a nice little niche for EAS. Athletes know that if they take EAS products, they have no worries or not passing drug tests for ingredients they didn’t know they were taking.

As far as their products go, the Myoplex line of supplements has been their mainstay. Whether you are taking Myoplex, Myoplex Lite, or Myoplex Deluxe; you know you are taking a quality supplement.

The taste of most of these products is not the best. There are some people that like the way Myoplex tastes. Try it for yourself and see.

The rest of the supplement line doesn’t really have a lot of favor with athletes and bodybuilders. EAS has tried to push new products or reformulated older products, but the only supplements that they can get to stick is the meal replacement, Myoplex.

I don’t know if EAS will ever regain the prominence that they had years before. I doubt they will. There are too many big supplement companies that are not afraid to use a lot of money to promote their product.

You also have to keep in mind that there are people that like to use supplements of the smaller companies. These companies don’t do a lot of advertising, but they have a loyal following.

If you are looking for a decent protein supplement or meal replacement, any of the Myoplex products would suffice. Its basic, good nutrition that you can trust.
