Universal Nutrition Real Gains
I haven’t discussed weight gainers very much on this blog. They are not very popular supplements these days. Most people have trouble losing body fat. I would say a much smaller segment of the fitness community are in dire need of weight gainers. I do think that they are beneficial however. Athletes would benefit from the extra calories in weight gainers.
Universal Nutrition Real Gains has more calories, more protein, more good fats, more taste, more fiber and less sugar than some of the other weight gainers. I would actually say that most companies nowadays are going this route, adding some fats and fiber and cutting back on the sugar.
Universal Real Gains has a good amount of protein per serving, and its good protein. Real Gains contains whey protein and micellar casein….very high quality for weight gainers.
Real Gains includes high amounts of complex carbs. You need those carbs to gain mass. You also get fiber that helps you body digest the high amounts of nutrients you are taking in.
As far as fat content goes, Universal Real Gains uses MCT and flaxseed oils. These fats are essential in hormone production, cell membrane protection and growth. Testosterone needs fat, so you have to make sure you get plenty of the good fat to gain the mass.
Each serving has about 600 calories with 5 grams of fat, 54 grams of protein, and 84 grams of carbs. Which is plenty when you include a couple cups of milk.
Another thing to remember with any weight gainer, not just Real Gains. You still have to eat!! You can‘t drink one serving of Real Gains and expect to gain muscle. Eat well, eat often, train hard, and the results will come.
