USPlabs OxyELITE Pro, 90 Capsules

**Update 5/9/12

The FDA has issued warning letters to various companies to cease production of products containing 1,3-dimethylamylamine, methylhexanamine, or geranium extract. The FDA says the following:

The agency has received 42 adverse event reports on products containing DMAA. While the complaints do not establish that DMAA was the cause of the incidents, some of the reports have included cardiac disorders, nervous system disorders, psychiatric disorders, and death.

So, after the purchase and use of millions and millions of bottles of supplements containing DMAA, it only takes 42 complaints for an ingredient to be banned?

It’s really difficult to actually tell if DMAA actually caused these side effects. Were these people taking other supplements or prescription medications? What were they eating? Were they following the directions on the label? When were they taking them?

If DMAA causes all of these side effects, why were there only 42? Wouldn’t there be more complaints if it really is bad for us?

If the FDA is going to pull DMAA the what’s next? Caffeine? It has a lot of side effects too, you know.

Here’s a link to FDA’s press release

USP Labs OxyElite Pro is one of the newest thermogenic supplements to hit the market. USP calls it Jacked in a pill. OxyElite Pro contains the newest fat loss superstar to hit the market….Geranium .

Geranium is becoming very, very popular and supplement companies are rushing to include this compound in their supplement. I know of 3 companies off the top of my head that are either reformulating their current pre workout/fat burner products or are introducing new products all together. They all contain Geranium.

I mentioned in my post about Jack3d that people are comparing Geranium to ephedra. That is a pretty big statement considering how popular and effective ephedra was. I will reserve judgment for awhile to see how all this plays out to see if Geranium is that great or not.

Other ingredients in OxyElite:

  • Rawolscine (cousin to yohimbine, fights against alpha 2 receptors)
  • Bauhinia purpurea L (supports thyroid levels)
  • Bacopa monnieri (also supports the thyroid)
  • Cirsium Oligophyllum (stimulates fat burning in subcutaneous fat)
  • Caffeine
  • Geranium

The caffeine is included for its usual purposes plus USP Labs says that caffeine can make Oxy Elite Pro’s other ingredients more effective.

Oxy Elite Pro Dosage

Take 1-2 capsules before breakfast, then 1 capsule about 6 to 8 hours later.

OxyElite Pro (it is cheaper on Amazon than BB.com) is a big seller. So far it seems to be getting very good reviews. The first few days give some people the jitters, but after those few days they get used to it and for the most part, see good results.

What can I stack with Oxy Elite?

Other than Recreate (wrote about this in another post), any other low or zero stimulant supplement might be helpful. I have clients that stack fatty acid supplements with it. There are products like Biorhythm’s Olio or Abdominal Cuts by Corr-Jensen labs that could assist in getting that extra bit of bodyfat off. High dose fish oil might even be helpful. Cellucor’s T7 might be helpful (stimulant free).

I have been using OEP for about a week. I have lost what I believe is water weight. For the first few days I had to drink plenty of water and I urinated quite often. The frequent urination has stopped. I started taking three tablets. I feel jittery with three tablets. I am going to go back to two a day. My appetite has decreased. I stopped over eating. I have about 75 pounds to lose. I hope OEP helps. Has anyone had an adverse rxn to this pill?

  2. admin says:

I just finished a bottle and I didn’t really have any problems. I was jittery for the first week or so, but then jitters wore off. Those jitters were the only thing negative I noticed with the OEP.

  3. Jay says:

I feel very jittery and cannot sleep at night but in 4 days ive lost 6 lbs

I have plenty of energy and only hungry in the morning. I have to make myself eat something the rest of the day. I can not beleive i hve No side affects. I take only two aday and I have a heart murmur. I dont feel jittery at all. Maybe its because of the natural ingredients. You should try it, I LOVE IT!!!!!!

  5. Dani says:

I am on my fourth week and i have lost 5.3 kilos (i cheated a bit on week 3 cause i had the flu so ate fatty foods)
when i first started i had sleep issues and bladder probs but that has all passed. I certainly need a heap more water but this is a good thing, my skin is loving it.

I love it. I am training 6 days a week (twice every second day) and without Oxy i would normally be a zombie due to soreness and being overtired but im always spritely.

Appetite is also non existent but i force 5 small meals a day for training and metabolism purposes.

I definately recommend it but start light on as per the directions. I even started with one in the morning only the first week and i have gone up to normal dose now.

    Happy training.

  7. Gwen says:

I have been using OEP for 3 Days and it is working for me. My appetite has decreased and not to be to graphic I have already starting seeing the fat release from my bowel movements. I however was not a water drinker but my body craves water. I eat what I want but my portion size is smaller. I am very pleased that I’m not nervous or jittery at all.

  8. Ruth says:

I just bought my first bottle excited to try it out. I see that you can stack it with other fat burnners. But I also noticed on the bottle is says to not. which is it? I’m wondering if anyone knows if I can take it with Woman’s Ultra Mega energy and metabolism supplements??

  9. admin says:

You can take it with other products that have very little or no stimulants. For instance, some users will use another product that USP makes called Recreate with it. Recreate has very small amounts of stimulants in it. Women’s Ultra Mega Energy has a blend of caffeine, cayenne, and black pepper (119mg). That’s not a ton, but if you take them together I would still try a lower dose of Oxy Elite Pro first to see how you react….maybe a max of 2 capsules a day.

  10. arturo says:

trying out first bottle a little jittery but all good

  11. anonymous says:

I take Oxy-elite Pro every now and then for an energy burst but my boyfriend and I both experience very strange side effects. I definitely , without a doubt, notice the appetite-curbing effects and it will give you that energy buzz you need. When i have any other caffeine or I am dehydrated, it makes me feel very sick. SOme of the odd side effects include watery eyes, strange urge to yawn and hot flashes as opposed to just being constantly hot. I am pretty sure this product works, especially for energy and thermogenic boost. I have used many other fat burners and this one seems to work the best. I am a smaller female so I stick to 1 in the morning, 2 after the first week when I am taking these. Stay hydrated while taking these.

  12. lo says:

i just bought a bottle but have not started it yet. i work out twice a day and eat fairly healthy. i have heart problems (svt, mumur, and mvp) i am worried about taking the pills. any suggestions?

  13. Katherine says:

I have just started taking this supplement.. On day 4, still only taking 1 in the morning. Has anyone else experienced extreme nausea? I have been waiting the 15-30 minutes before eating (usually a small meal) and drinking water like a camel. I can appreciate the nausea curbs my appetite :) , but the sick feeling is defintely limiting my daily functions. Any suggestions? I was a bit jittery day one, but it was a good jittery- now I just feel tanked in the pit of my stomach. I am also taking multi-vitamins, CLA, and fish oils- is there an advantage to the order in which they are taken? seems miniscule, but maybe that could improve this side-effect.

lo- as a person who works in the healthcare industry, specifically in heart health- please please talk to your doctor before taking ANY type of stimulants- the additional stess on your heart may not be worth the gamble.

  14. admin says:

I’d definitely hold off on taking them. I would check with your doctor first before taking any kind of stimulant, especially considering the conditions you have. If I had those conditions I probably would not take them.

  15. Bo says:

I’ve switched from Hydroxycut (HC) to OEP and there is a big difference. I don’t get the side effects that HHC gave me with OEP (and still lose the weight just as fast). And the side effects I do have are the type I WANT! OEP appears to cause me to “force myself to eat” and I’ve read reviews from different sites and this has got to be one of the best part of the products. You don’t want to waste the burn, so I eat a piece of fruit or a protein bar most of the time (but I have to make myself do it). And I’m thirsty for water. I keep a gallon jug next to me now. So frequent urination will take place. I also seem to sweat more, opening my pours up that gives me a small chill. One warning: DON’T MIX IT WITH ANY CAFFINE PRODUCT!!!! OEP does not like to be mixed. It will cause (in some cases extreme) nausea. Watch what you mix it with. I mistakenly drunk a diet coke. Wont do that again.

Best product on the market folks. And I’ve tried all of them.

  16. Gary says:

I used these pills as well… and had great results… BUT a very strange side effect that stopped me from taking them. About the 3-4 week in, I had a constant urge to pee, and I felt that I couldn’t control my on/off valve to pee. I felt like I was losing control of my bladder and not to be even wierder, but truthful, I noticed that my orgamsms even felt wierd. Thought I would just put that out there and see if anyone else noticed the same side effects.

  17. Marie says:

I have taking Phenteramine in the past at the highest dose and the instructions are the same to stay on for two months and then remain off for a month before resuming. I noticed after the two months my hair began to shed and I lost a lot of hair leaving me with half the amount on my head. Is there any possibility of this happening after long term use and could this possibly affect a womans hormonal levels. Scared to try another diet pill especially after the hair loss was not a listed side effect but many phenteramine users did report this as well in online reviews.

  18. I have been taking OEP for 4 weeks now. My start weight was 264 and now I am 252. I also started the gym and started to run. I take the first 2 tablets around 8am, go to the gym, run and then have a simple breakfast of fruit or toast. By noon I eat a small lunch and then at 3pm I take my 3rd pill and at dinner which is usually around 6pm, I can only eat a third of what I was used to eating. I has helped me with portion control and has helped my metabilism A LOT!!

  19. Kat says:

I have some Oxy Elite Pro and was wondering what other USP products should I stack with it. As a woman I do not want to be taking any supplements that are intended for a man. Any advice would be appreciated.

Just bought my first bottle of OEP today along with Women’s Ultra Mega multivitamin. I’m really excited to drop some excess weight. I’m 177 now and have hopes to get down to 150 in 9 weeks. Question- Those of you who’ve taken this, what were your results and timeframe, please?

  22. Crystal says:

I just started to take OEP yesterday and have already lost 1.5 pounds, after taking phentermine for the last 2 months and lost 8 pounds.. But i have a question.. 1.WHEN AM I SUPPOSE TO EAT IN THE MORNING HOW LONG AFTER I TAKE MY PILL???

    2. ALSO AFTER MY SECOND DOSE IN THE AFTERNOON DO I EAT BEFORE OR AFTER I TAKE THAT 2ND DOSE??

    thank you in advance

  23. Liliane says:

Hello all, I started using Oxyelite one day ago, and I don’t understand why I feel so sleepy, i’m also taking birth control and Women’s ultra mega energy & metabolism, can that be why I’m experiencing this sleepy side effects. I can barely keep my eyes open at work, I take it at 5:30 Am eat a multi grain bar and work out for 1.5 hours, during that time I have lots of energy but once I get to work around 10:30 Am, I feel so drained and by this time my body is craving for some caffeine. Please.

    Thank you
    Lily

  24. Samantha says:

The OEP came very highly recommended to me by a friend, so I just received my first bottle. Also highly recommended to me was Jack3d as a pre-workout supplement. I am now reading that you are not supposed to use any other stimulants with OEP, and I am wondering if this includes Jack3d (which most certainly has stimulants.) Instead of the recommened two scoops of the Jack3d, I would only be taking a half of a scoop, and I would only be taking one OEP in the morning, and possibly one at lunch. Does anybody out there know if it would be safe to mix the two? If not, which would be better, because I really lack the motivation to workout.

  25. ronnie says:

well since may 28, 2011… i weighed in at 206.. now i weigh 199.. i lost a few inches an i feel good.. it helps….

  26. Elsa says:

Will try it starting tomorrow but will like to know if you must do your workout when you take the pill. I do a lot of cardio but during evening hours, never for breakfast. I will start with 1 pill a day for the first week and see how it goes, want to make sure I dont get any stomach cramps as my stomach is sensitive.
Any comments, please let me know.
    Thanks

  27. admin says:

You can take it whenever you want really. I just wouldn’t take any too close to bedtime. You don’t want it causing your quality of sleep to suffer.

  28. Elsa says:

Thanks for the input. Today will take the second pill on the 4 day. So far, no reactions whatsoever.. I get a little sleepy for some reason but other than that I feel ok. Will see what happens with 2 pills a day. Will let you guys know…

I’ve been taking this for two weeks now. I’m still taking one a day because I wanted to see my reaction to it. At first I was jittery. Now I just have hot flashes, frequent urination (decreasing), gas and frequent bile movement in week two. I do feel hungry (NOTHING prevents that for me) but I do get full fast. I also have dry mouth. You need to drink plenty of water. The flashes aren’t every day, but they’re noticeable! Tomorrow starts Week 3, so I’ll start trying 2 a day to see what happens.

  34. Annie says:

I find oep to be the best pill out there I been taking oep for about a week now I actually did not experience any side effects no jitters no sleep problems I have no hunger which for me is Great I love food and always hungry I have tried everything and I find OxyElitePro to be Awesome I’m full of energy The only time I’m hungry is when I wake up but I take a pill by the time I’m done fixing breakfast my hunger is gone where then I actually force myself to eat. My advice is… If your looking for energy and loss of hunger and want to lose weight by means take OxyElitePro. takes about 10-15 to kick in system once you take it I’d definitely take on empty stomach and wait about 10-15 min to eat.

I had been taking Oxy Elite Pro off/on per the instructions on the bottle for about two months to lose the last 30lbs which came off with proper diet and exercising 4 times a week. Went from 165 to 135 Lbs. Having stopped for about a month now I am experiencing extreme hair loss . Started off as mild shedding during use. I now have very noticeable balding in 3 spots about the size of a quarter with extreme thinning and shedding. Has anyone else experienced hair l

I noticed my name on your comments. I just want to clarify…my name is Brenda Reed also. why would anyone use their last name??…and mine!

  39. Brenda says:

Yes I have experienced hair loss. But no one from Oxyelite pro has answered my queston. Does it or not?????

  40. TL says:

I’m so glad that I found this site! I have been to several doctors trying to find out what has caused my hair loss. I took oxyelite pro for 2 months and once the 2 months was over, my hair thinned alot! Also, my part line thinned, my hair receded at the sides, and at the crown it also thinned noticable (to me atleast) . I have been having to use thickening shampoos and taking 5000mg of biotin because of it!

  41. Brenda says:

In answer to you question, below Miriam…I have experience the severe hair loss as well. But I have not hear a word for the company! thanks, Brenda

has anyone noticed any hair loss while taking oep? I’ve been taking it close to 2 months off and on noticing massive abnormal hair loss?

  43. Brenda says:

I’ve contacted the FDA and left information about Oxyelite Pro and the fact that my hair has been just falling out. Since I can not get a response for the Oxyelite Pro company.

  44. TL says:

brenda… I think that is a great idea to contact about Oxyelite.
I have been taking bvitamins, 5000 mg of biotin daily and using Jason brand all natural shampoo and conditioner with no sulfates, additives, and it has biotin and vitamin e in it as well. my hair started thinning and coming out in the end of January, finally, 2 months later, it has stopped and is starting to get fuller again. My eyelashes even fell out on my left eye (in one spot) … I’m so glad to know that I”m not alone.
However I spent millions of hours researching oxyelite. I found a website that said it was banned in canada b/c it does infact have yohimbe in it. It doesn’t include that on the ingredient label… but when you look up all the info of yohimbe, it’s pretty scary. I had several people recommend oxyelite to me, and to be honest… I’m so thankful it didn’t do anything worse. Gave me a new appreciation for my hair, that’s for sure. I will never touch the stuff again! My diet and exercise alone will have to be sufficient for weightloss. period. Good luck and hope all gets better soon.
